Williams County Fair meet opens

Montpelier, OH — The Williams County Fair at Montpelier, Ohio, opened up its two-day meet on Sunday (Sept. 8) with a nine-race card. The program consisted of four colt and filly stakes along with five overnight races.

Chuck Ringger’s Letsdukeitout (Iron Duke-Cheerleader Sue) got up at the wire to take the 3-year-old colt trot in 2:08.4. Ringger also trains the gelding with Greg Bateson picking up the winning catch-drive.

Lovintouchinfeelin (Feelin Friskie-Western Touch) captured the 3-year-old filly pace in 2:02. Bill Webb trains the filly and also co-owns her with Denny Miller. Duke Sugg had the winning drive behind Lovintouchinfeelin.

Lofty Train (Trainforthefuture-Lofty Comer) won the 2-year-old filly trot in 2:15. John Konesky III trains and drives the filly and also co-owns her with his son Patrick.

Midnight Dude (Downtown Dude-Midnight Jewel) came home first in the 2-year-old colt pace after a mile in 2:08. Dale Decker is the owner-trainer-driver of the gelding.

Harness racing will conclude at the Williams County Fair on Tuesday (Sept. 10) with nine harness races and five Trottingbred races. Post time for the first race will be 6:30 p.m.
