Windsong Leo rolled to his fifth straight victory in a career-best 1:49.4 in Monday’s $18,000 Preferred Handicap Pace.

Windsong Leo was posted farthest outside in the field of five, but when he reeled off the first quarter in a snappy :26.4 before getting a :29.1 breather from Ronnie Wrenn Jr., he was racing only the clock. Major Nemesis raced capably first-over to finish second, 3-3/4 lengths back, while Knocking Around rallied for show.

Ron Burke trains Windsong Leo, a 6-year-old Jereme’s Jet-Windsong Goldie gelding who lifted his lifetime bankroll to $315,250, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi and Phillip Collura.

It was one of three wins on the 13-race card for Wrenn.

Live racing continues Tuesday, when The Meadows will draw for post positions for Saturday’s $400,000 final of the Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids. The draw can be seen at 12:30 p.m. on Meadows Live!
