Wire-to-wire winners in Buckeye Stallion Series

Columbus, OH – Three $17,500 divisions of sophomore colt pacers took to the track for the fourth leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series on Friday (Sept. 2) at Eldorado Scioto Downs.

In the first and fastest division, Brett Miller guided Pearl Snaps to his 10th seasonal victory in 1:51.4. Leaving from post one, the gelded son of Fear The Dragon refused to be put into the pocket by 15-1 Rock The Dragon. Pearl Snaps gained control of the field as soon as the dust settled and never looked back. With a :27.2 final quarter, 1-5 favorite Pearl Snaps bested Art Of Revenge (Tony Hall) by a neck while Rock The Dragon (Tyler Smith) held on for third.

Self Made went wire-to-wire in the second division of the night. Driven by Dan Noble, the 4-5 favorite posted fractions in :27.4, :57.1, and 1:23.3 before equaling his lifetime best of 1:52. Mach Out Knockout (Austin Hanners) was second with Jay Seaside (Hall) completing the trifecta.

Trained by Ron Potter, the victory marks the second BSS win for the Fear The Dragon gelding. As a $15,000 purchase out of the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, Self Made has earned more than $96,000 in lifetime earnings for Last Laugh LLC.

Velocity Chaps took the final division in 1:52. With Tony Hall behind the lines, the Well Said colt went straight to the top. At 1-5, Velocity Chaps held off challenger Robin’s Art to set fractions in :26.3, :54.4, and 1:22.4 before winning by three lengths.
