Wisconsin racing back on track

from the Wisconsin Harness Horse Association

Platteville, WI — Harness racing returns to the Walworth County Fairgrounds in Elkhorn, Wis., at 12 Noon on Saturday, June 20.

Trotters and pacers from all over Wisconsin and northern Illinois will continue Elkhorn’s rich harness racing tradition. Cash purses and bragging rights are up for grabs at one of Wisconsin’s premier harness racing tracks.

“It’s a free afternoon of family fun,” says Gabe Wand, President of the Wisconsin Harness Horse Association. “Free parking and free grandstand seating make it a great entertainment value. We’re thrilled to bring the races here with our great co-sponsor, the Elkhorn Trotting Club.”

Food and drinks are available for purchase, and a 50/50 cash drawing is planned.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to watch the horses warm-up, and stay after the races to visit with some of the horsemen and women and their equine athletes.

The Walworth County Fairgrounds is located along State Road 11 on the east side of Elkhorn, near the intersection of State Route 12 and Interstate 43. Travel time from Milwaukee, Waukesha, or Janesville is just 40 minutes.
