Wolf Creek Ted named Ohio’s best in July

by Dean Hoffman

Columbus, OH — Wolf Creek Ted has been named Ohio Horse of the Month for July after a perfect four wins in four starts.
The 3-year-old trotting gelding is trained by Jim Arledge, Jr. for Dustin Arledge and was driven in all of his victories by Dan Noble. Ohio harness writers recognized him for his excellence in July.

He started the month with a stunning upset of Sing Jesse Sing on Independence Day at Scioto Downs. Sing Jesse Sing was coming to the Ohio Sires Stakes event after winning the $375,390 Goodtimes at Mohawk. Noble kept Wolf Creek Ted off the pace, but fired him up in the stretch to win by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:57 over Sing Jesse Sing.

Wolf Creed Ted was the second choice by the bettors in that race, but still went off at odds of 23-1.

He then went to the Franklin County Fair in Hilliard and won in a wire-to-wire 2:08.1 mile.

His next stop was July 24 at Northfield when he took an Ohio Fair Stake there in 1:58.2, again coming from off the pace to score over Rose Run Limo by a half-length.

Wolf Creek Ted completed his perfect month by dominating an Ohio Sires Stakes division at Northfield on July 30 with a 5-1/4 length win in 2:00.
