Wood County Fair hosts lone night of racing

Bowling Green, OH — The Wood County Fair at Bowling Green, Ohio, held its lone session of harness racing on Wednesday night (August 3). Eleven races highlighted the evening’s program.
Jess Perfect (Jailhouse Jesse-Perfect Comer) took the 2-year-old colt trot in 2:12.3. John Konesky III is the gelding’s trainer-driver and also co-owns him with his son Patrick.
Rodney Conner guided Tata’s Flash (Memphis Flash-Matata) to victory in the 2-year-old colt pace. Barbie Conner trains the gelding with Bob Figgins and Pam and Michelle Riedeman picking up the expenses. Tata’s Flash toured the Bowling Green oval in 2:11.2.
The 3-year-old filly trot was contested in two divisions with the first split going to Jennifer Main’s My Cup Of Tea (Victory Sam-My Cup Flows Over) in 2:16.3. Skip DeMull does the training and driving on My Cup Of Tea. The second division went to Justabout (Victory Sam-Over Proximity) in 2:08.2. Justabout is owned by Tom Moore, Sr. with Tom Moore, Jr. providing the training and driving duties.
Friskie D (Feelin Friskie-Double E Hanover) captured the 2-year-old filly pace in 2:08.3. Tom Marts, Jr. is the filly’s trainer-driver with Ben Ott paying the bills.
Emil Konesky’s Nanner (Ilooklikemymom-Canaco Marlena) found the winner’s circle in the 3-year-old colt trot after a mile in 2:09.2. Mark Headworth is the gelding’s trainer-driver.
Ben Ott’s Our Little Filly (Towner’s Big Guy-Two-Fifty-Seven) came home first in the 3-year-old filly pace with a mile in 2:03.3. Tom Marts, Jr. is the trainer-driver of Our Little Filly.
John and Patrick Konesky returned to the winner’s circle after Lofty Jessica (Jailhouse Jesse-Lofty Comer) triumphed in the 2-year-old filly trot. John again does the training and driving and the pair are the co-owners. Lofty Jessica trotted her mile in 2:13.2.
Arizona Dawn (Dawn Ofa New Day-Cinder Tempe) paced to victory in the 3-year-old colt pace with Mark Headworth doing the piloting. Gary Gilliland is the gelding’s owner-trainer. Arizona Dawn took 2:03.4 to complete the mile.
