WVIL to broadcast racing from Brown County Fair

by Joshua Potts, for the Brown County Fair

Springfield, IL — Be sure to come out and catch live harness racing action at the Brown County Fair on July 29, 30 and 31 in Mount Sterling, Ill. First race post time for all three nights of racing is 7:00 p.m. (CDT).

For those who can’t make it to the track in person — no problem! That’s because WVIL 101.3 FM, of Jacksonville, Ill., will broadcast all of the live racing action, with coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m. on all three evenings.

For those outside of the listening area, you may listen to all of the action from anywhere in the world via WVIL 101.3 FM’s Web site at www.lbsportsproductions.com/broadcast.shtml. After typing the site into your browser, simply click the link where it reads, ‘CLICK HERE FOR CURRENT BROADCAST.’ It’s that simple!

The highlight of the meet will once again be Thursday’s (July 31) $18,000 Taser Gun — the all-time richest race in Illinois county fair racing. Named after the veteran campaigner who scorched the Mount Sterling twicearound in 2002 with a mile of 1:53.4 — still the fastest mile in Illinois county fair history — the Taser Gun is always the most anticipated race on the Illinois county fair circuit.

As if that were not enough, the sensational young driver Marcus Miller will once again be ‘racing for the cure’ for breast cancer research. While racing in his easily recognized pink sulky, Miller will once again donate a portion of his earnings at the Brown County Fair to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Furthermore, the Brown County Fair is once again the only fair in Illinois to offer the public pari-mutuel wagering on harness racing.

With great racing action and the chance to win money, bring your family and friends out to see the live harness racing action at the Brown County Fair on July 29, 30, and 31. You won’t want to miss it!
