Yonkers, NY — When Yonkers Raceway returns from hiatus, it does so with an across the board purse increase.

Beginning Friday (June 13), the Raceway offers an increase of approximately 15 percent on all overnight races.

The new purse structure shall range from $10,000 (for non-winners of $5,000 in last six starts) to $44,000 (for the trio of weekly Opens/Open Handicaps). The “old” range went from $9,000 to $38,000.

“After our mid-season break, we’re looking at a summer and fall of terrific racing,” general manager Bob Galterio said. “As always, we appreciate the horsemen’s support and encourage everyone to compete for the best purses in harness racing.”

The Raceway’s five night per week live schedule resumes June 13, with first post every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:10 p.m. Evening simulcasting accompanies all live programs, with afternoon simulcasting available daily.
