Little Brown Jug/Jugette condition change; Grand Circuit yearling nomination reminder
The Little Brown Jug Society has announced changes to the conditions of the Little Brown Jug No. 83 and Jugette No. 58, the stakes for foals of 2025 to be raced in 2028, which will take yearling payments on May 15, 2026.
2026 Graded Stakes schedule to kick off Thursday
The 2026 Graded Stakes schedule kicks off on Thursday (April 23) with four finals of the Restricted 3 James K. Hackett Memorial for Ohio-sired 3-year-olds at Miami Valley Raceway. Each has a purse of $75,000.
Ontario-sired yearlings of 2025 must be registered and nominated before May 16
The Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) Yearling Nomination forms for foals of 2025 (OSS 55) have been mailed to all registered owners of Ontario-sired yearlings. Owners are reminded that yearling nominations are due before Friday, May 15, at 11:59 p.m. ET and all yearlings paid into the program must be registered at the time of nomination.

The April 15 deadline is drawing near for many stakes payments. Here is a list of notices that have been submitted to the USTA Newsroom.
Next Generation buy-ins due
Nominations are due starting Wednesday (April 15) for the $150,000 est. Next Generation events, to be held at Eldorado Scioto Downs on Saturday, July 4. If less than 10 (10) $8,000 entries are received by April 15, the nominations will stay open with a $10,000 nomination fee due May 15.

The Meadowlands Racetrack would like to remind everyone that sustaining payments for our rich stakes program are to be postmarked by Wednesday (April 15).

At the recent Winter Meeting of the Directors of the Hambletonian Society, the board approved the conditions of Hambletonian No. 103, the stake for foals of 2025 to be raced in 2028, which will take yearling payments on May 15, 2026.
