Lexington, KY — Due to inclement weather around the Lexington area that created unsafe track conditions, the Sunday night (Aug. 2) card of harness racing at The Red Mile has been cancelled.
Sunday’s card included 10 stakes events headlined by the $80,000 opening preliminary of the Kentucky Championship Series for 2-year-old pacing colts and geldings. All the Kentucky-bred races slated for Sunday – also including divisions of the Kentucky Commonwealth, Kentucky Golden Rod and Kentucky Wildcat Series – will be held on a non-wagering card of racing Monday morning (Aug. 3) starting at 9:30 a.m. (EDT). Red Mile will then resume with its scheduled 15-race card for Monday at 1 p.m. (EDT), which is headlined by the $80,000 opening round of the Kentucky Championship Series for 2-year-old trotting colts and geldings.
