USTA 2024 rule change proposals announced
A total of 32 rule and bylaw change proposals have been submitted to the U.S. Trotting Association and will be voted upon by the full board of USTA Directors in March at the 2024 annual meeting in Columbus, Ohio.

Pick-5 carryover Saturday at Yonkers swells to $124K-plus, includes $250K guarantee
Greg The Leg’s 31-1 upset in the final race on Thursday’s (Sept. 7) program at MGM Yonkers Raceway caused the $5 minimum “Lucky” Pick-5 wager not to be hit for a second straight night. As a result, Saturday afternoon’s (Sept. 9) MGM Yonkers International Trot card will now include a carryover in excess of $124,000, plus $15,000 worth of seed money from the SOA of New York, for a total starting pot of over $139,000 in the sequence.
$40k guarantee at Scioto for Ohio Super Night
With a double instant carryover of the Super Hi-5 on Friday at Eldorado Scioto Downs, the track will be guaranteeing the wager at $40,000 for Saturday (September 9). The guarantee will be in race 4, with a $7,753 carryover is scheduled to go off at 6:22 p.m.

Worlds collide in $1 million MGM Yonkers International Trot
The eyes of the Standardbred world will be firmly entranced on Yonkers Raceway on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 9) when 10 older trotters from all ends of the globe convene for the $1 million MGM Yonkers International Trot. The invitation-only event is the featured attraction on an 11-race card which offers $3.3 million in purses and also includes the New York Sire Stakes championships for 2- and 3-year-olds.
Alford returns to America to drive Aldebaran Zeus in International Trot
Seven years ago, Chris Alford had the opportunity to participate in several races during Little Brown Jug Week at the Delaware County Fairgrounds while in the U.S. on holiday. The renowned Australian driver’s return to the States this week is all business. Alford, who is approaching 8,000 lifetime victories and is the winningest driver in Australian history, will get in the sulky behind Aussie-bred Aldebaran Zeus in Saturday’s $1 million MGM Yonkers International Trot at MGM Yonkers Raceway.
