Stranger Things ($3.90) used a strong back half mile (:58.4)  in Buffalo Raceway’s $16,000 Open Pace on Saturday afternoon (May 17) to collect a solid 2-1/2 length victory over Melanion N in a seasonal best of 1:55.2 over the fast track.

Gowestyounggrace, last season’s Maine Sire Stakes champion sophomore pacing filly, returned to her winning ways at Cumberland Raceway on Friday (May 16), showing her fans and connections that she still loves to race.

Eldorado Scioto Downs held the first Ohio Sires Stakes races of the year and Virgil Morgan, Jr. took three of the four divisions for 3-year-old filly pacers and trotters. Dream Something was the lone OHSS winner not trained by Morgan as she continued her win streak at Scioto making it two in a row, in a new lifetime mark of 1:53.3.

Using a powerful late kick, Louisville GB continued her winning ways Friday (May 16) night at The Meadowlands, taking the $17,500 feature, a TrackMaster 89.4 for fillies and mares on the pace.

A pair of $25,000 Series Finals highlighted a rain-soaked and weather plagued Friday (May 16) night at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, with Classical Jane and On To Norway delivering dominant performances as heavy favorites in each. Later on the card, 2024 Breeders Crown champion Coach Stefanos scored his first victory of the year in the $22,000 Open Pace.

Purple Lord (Jim Pantaleano) won the featured $12,000 trot at Tioga Downs on Friday (May 16).

Diamond Head (Justin Huckabone) captured the $7,500 featured pace at Vernon Downs on Friday (May 16).

After three second place finishes in his last four starts in Buffalo Raceway’s Open Trot, Big Baller Beane ($9.40) got the job done at last on Friday afternoon (May 16) with a three-quarter length victory over El Toro Loco in a season’s best 1:57.3.

The racing card at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Friday afternoon (May 16) had to be delayed by a half-hour as a fierce storm passed though southeast Pennsylvania and the surface required work to restore it to safe racing shape.
