Dover, DE – The 3-year-old Matron Stakes are scheduled for Thursday (Nov. 7) at Bally’s Dover.
The fields are as follows:
The $146,050 Matron Stake trot for 3-year-old fillies takes place in the sixth race. (estimated post time 6:20 p.m). Breeder’s Crown champ Allegiant tangles with R Melina, who finished second to Allegiant in the Breeder’s Crown Final. The two fillies renew their rivalry.
The $152,800 Matron Stake for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters will be the eighth race on the card, with an estimated post time of 7:00 p.m. Highland Kismet, the altered son of Father Patrick, finished a fast closing fourth in the Breeder’s Crown Final last start.
Sir Pinocchio could prove to be his main competition. Sir Pinocchio has won five of his last six races and is the leading money earner in the race with over $600,000 lifetime.
The 10th race on the betting card is the $116,500 Matron Stake for 3-year-old fillies on the pace. Estimated post time is 8 p.m. In her last, My Girl EJ, who was parked to the half, won the Breeders Crown Final, in 1:49.3 as the betting favorite. The Sweet Lou product has bankrolled over $1.4 million and is the leading money earner in the race.
The $178,100 Hap Hansen Memorial for 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers, is scheduled for the 12th race with an estimated off time of 8:20 p.m. The race is named in honor of the late Hap Hansen, who held the post of Chairman of the Board at Brandywine Raceway.
Highlighting the division is Mirage Hanover, a winner in the Breeders Crown Final, winning in 1:48. Other contenders include, Little Brown Jug and Adios victor Captain Albano, who has earned over $1.3 million lifetime.
There are 15 races on the betting card.
