Chester, PA — Three-time defending Driver of the Year Dexter Dunn lit up Harrah’s Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon (April 10), visiting Victory Lane six times, including with both of the feature race winners.
In a $15,300 pace for developing distaffs, Dunn moved the JK Endofanera mare Brilliant Beauty to the lead in front of the stands after an early scramble and was on cruise control from there, stopping the timer in 1:52.4 while defeating Shezafreaklikeme by 2-1/2 lengths.
Brilliant Beauty now has two straight victories for trainer Tee Wine and Jemaxpo Racing Stable.
Brilliant Beauty was sent off as the 1-5 favorite; much more surprising was Dunn’s success with the 23-1 shot Random Hanover in 1:52.3 in the $13,000 fast-class pace. The Eric Foster-trained Somebeachsomewhere gelding, who won his last local start during the last week of 2021, was behind nonflowing cover, then steamed three-wide from late backstretch onward to just catch pacesetting Lyons Steel by a neck for owner Arty Foster.
Racing resumes here next Thursday at 12:25 p.m., with bettors undoubtedly taking a shot at a $13,746.79 carryover into race three’s Super Hi 5 wager. There will also be racing on Friday at 12:25 p.m. and then Harrah’s Philadelphia will be dark for live racing Easter Sunday. Program pages for all cards will be available at the PHHA website.
