Harrisburg, PA — The United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA) is giving away a free trip for two to the Dan Patch Awards banquet, presented by Caesars Entertainment in Orlando, Fla. (Feb. 24 and 25, 2024) to the winner of the Scott Alberg Facebook Hambletonian contest this Saturday (Aug. 5) at The Meadowlands.
The trip is the grand prize and it’s worth more than $3,000. There is also a second-place prize of $250 and a third-place prize of $150.
All contestants need to do is correctly select the straight exacta (first two official finishers) in the $1 million Hambletonian Trot final on Saturday. The contest will officially start at noon on Thursday (Aug. 3) on Scott Alberg’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/scottalberg.3.
The first-place prize includes the following: Round-trip airfare to Orlando, Fla. (limited funding depending on departure location outside North America); two nights hotel stay at the Rosen Centre Resort in Orlando; two tickets to the Dan Patch Awards Banquet, sponsored by Caesars Entertainment; $250 Visa card for airport transfers and food; and free access to the USHWA Hospitality Suite Feb. 24 and 25.
Contestants must be age 21 or older to enter. Prize package is not transferable. Current USHWA members are not eligible to enter the contest. Complete rules and regulations are posted on the USHWA website at www.usharnesswriters.com.
“I really hope that some average Joe wins the contest,” said USHWA President Barry Lefkowitz. “It would be great for a racing fan, owner, trainer, driver or groom whom would never get a chance to experience what a great weekend this is to win this prize.”
Anyone who is not on Facebook can also enter the contest by emailing their exacta selection to CustomerService@4NJPicks.com.
In the event that there are multiple correct selections, a drawing for the prize winners will take place live on the USHWA Facebook page Saturday (Aug. 5) at 6:30 p.m. (EDT).
