Washington, PA – Here is this week’s Meadows Monday Memo:
TOYS FOR TOTS DRIVE UNDERWAY
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows and the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association are pleased to announce the beginning of this year’s Toys For Tots charity program. Two donation checkpoints are up and running, and items will be accepted through December 3. For racing fans, donations can be dropped off in the Racebook at the Retail Counter. For horsemen, donations can be delivered to the MSOA Office on the backstretch.
NEW STABLES ARRIVING
The arrival of November also signals the arrival of many new horses to The Meadows. Brady Jenson, a regular during the winter season in recent years, has already arrived with his stable after another successful summer in Minnesota. The Rick Bertrand Stable is expected to arrive this week after competing at Running Aces then Shenandoah Downs, and at least two other Minnesota-based trainers will soon follow.
2027 SCHEDULE SUBMITTED FOR APPROVAL
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows has submitted its 2027 schedule proposal to the Pennsylvania Horse Racing Commission for approval at its next meeting, later in November. The schedule consists of 169 racing days, the same as in 2026.
RACING THIS WEEK
The Meadows will race its regular fall schedule this week, with parimutuel action at 12:45pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The only changes to the schedule in November will take place during Thanksgiving week. There will be no live racing on Thursday, November 26, but an added card that week will take place at 12:45pm on Saturday, November 28.
