Columbus, OH — Cheryl Etta Holmen, 63, a quiet beacon of love, laughter, and light, born Jan. 18, 1960, died July 31, 2023.

She lived a life that left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She was a woman of strength, warmth, and fun, and her departure has left a void in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.

A lifelong horsewoman, she held a particular affinity for Standardbreds. Her prowess in handling these majestic creatures reflected her understanding and compassion for all living beings.

Her infectious smile and vibrant laughter were a magnet for all those around her. Her sharp wit and intelligent humor were an enduring source of joy and kept everyone around her laughing. The bonds she formed were deep, and she was cherished by many, who will miss her greatly.

She was a warrior, facing her battle with cancer with immense bravery and unwavering spirit. Her courageous fight against the disease was nothing short of inspirational.
