Harrah’s Hoosier Park announces schedule changes due to excessive heat

Anderson, IN — In consideration of the safety and well-being of our equine athletes, horsemen and women, and patrons, Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino is making adjustments to the racing schedule for the upcoming week.

Due to forecasted excessive heat, racing on Thursday (Aug. 24) will be canceled and post times on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday will be moved to 7 p.m.

With the priority of ensuring the health and safety of all involved, Harrah’s Hoosier Park management believes that rescheduling races during cooler evening hours is the best course of action.

Thursday’s Indiana Sires Stake event will now be carded as part of Friday’s racing program. Additionally, there will be 14 races carded on Saturday as opposed to 12.

Harrah’s Hoosier Park will be implementing its standard precautionary heat related measures throughout the week.

Harrah’s Hoosier Park remains committed to providing a high-quality racing experience while prioritizing the well-being of both participants and spectators. We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of everyone involved during this schedule adjustment.
