Daniel Keith Chamberlin, 71, dies

Daniel K. Chamberlin died on January 2, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Rochester, New Hampshire on August 17, 1952. He attended Sanford High School and graduated in 1970. He went on to James Madison University and graduated in 1978 with a degree in Business Administration/Marketing.

All of life he’s had a passion for horses. He helped on the family farm and enjoyed many year spending time with his father and uncle traveling and attending horse auctions. In his youth he was an active 4-H member and showed horses at both Maine and New England horse shows. Over the years he’s been a member of several organization relating to the horse industry including the Highview Riding Club, Maine Horse Association, The New England Horseman’s Council, The Maine Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association and the Maine Harness Horseman’s Association.

For many years he served as both a steward and a judge at Horse Shows throughout New England.
In college he was a member of the archery team and qualified for the Olympics in archery.
Most recently he owned and operated a business selling tack and horse supplies to harness horseman and women at First Tracks Cumberland, Bangor Raceway and local fairs.

He was a voracious reader and always had a book in his hands or was listening to an audio book. His love of science fiction was passed on to his daughter Amanda and to his granddaughters.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Patti Chamberlin of Sanford, Maine, Daughters Jessica Rodriguez and her husband Jonathan and Amanda Nash and her husband Timothy Nash both of Sanford Maine also his four grandchildren that he loved and was so proud of Morgan, Ella, Michael and Sarah Rodriguez.

He is also survived by his father George Chamberlin of Alfred and his wife Cheryl, brothers David Chamberlin and his wife Roberta of Milford, Massachusetts, Paul Chamberlin and his wife Elaine of Sanford Maine, sisters Mary Chabot and her husband Jim of Scottsdale Arizona and Cathy Chamberlin of Wilmot New Hampshire and several nieces, nephew and cousins.

The family will be having a celebration of life on Saturday, January 6 from 1-4 pm at the home of David and Betty Guay, 769 Webber Hill Road, Kennebunk Maine. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
