Nichols, NY — PL Princess C (Jeff Long) coasted to an easy win in the $10,000 featured distaff pace on Friday (July 26).
Mary Kat (Marcus Miller) led to the quarter :27.2 before April Ava (Braxten Boyd) took the lead with a lap to go and controlled a :56.4 half. PL Princess C ($5.20) made her move first-up going down the backstretch, and she hustled to take the lead past the 1:24.3 three-quarters.
As they reached the stretch, PL Princess C found another gear and won easily in 1:52.4. April Ava held on to finish second. So Diva (Jim Taggert Jr.) came up to get third.
PL Princess C is a 5-year-old mare by Thinking Out Loud trained by Paul Long for owners Charlene and Jeff Long. It was her fifth win this season. She now owns 15 career victories.
Driver Aaron Byron combined with trainer Jeff Byron for three winners on the card: Lyons Night Hawk, Spittin Chicklets and Pick Me Up Hanover.
