Dover, DE — Keg Stand made amends for an earlier defeat and won convincingly in the $25,000 Open Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night (Jan. 28).
Last Glow and Chapheart battled into the first turn. Last Glow settled in the pocket initially before taking the lead away from a stubborn Chapheart past the opening quarter was :27.3. Last Glow led the field to the half in :57, but Keg Stand unleashed a brush out of fourth past the half and cleared easily for the lead up the backstretch.
Platinum As moved first-over and Rivers chased second-over, but those bids stalled. Keg Stand was in full flight passing the three quarters in 1:25 and he drew off in the stretch to win by five lengths in 1:54. Chapheart finished second; Last Glow picked up the show spot.

Tony Morgan drove Keg Stand, a son of Bar Hopping who paid $3.40 to win, for trainer Nick DeVita and owners David Hamm and EVM Racing.
Tim Tetrick drove six winners on the 14-race card.
