Vernon, NY – BB Lucky Boy (John MacDonald) and Quarrel (Chris Long) captured the co-features at Vernon Downs on Friday (Oct. 10).
BB Lucky Boy ($9.54) won the $7,500 pace.
Merrow (Leon Bailey) grabbed the early lead, but BB Lucky Boy took over and led to the quarter in :27. He used a :28.3 second quarter to be first to the half in :55.3. Son Of A Tiger N (Chris Long) came first-over to challenge as they went around the final turn. BB Lucky Boy was first to three-quarters in 1:23.3.

As they reached the stretch BB Lucky Boy shook off third-place finisher Son Of A Tiger N to win in 1:50.1. Merrow came on late to finish second.
BB Lucky Boy is a 6-year-old gelding by Luck Be Withyou. He is owned by Paul Kautz and trained by Cam Capone. It was his eighth win this season and his 31st career victory.
Quarrel ($4.26) won the $7,500 pace for fillies and mares.
Bell Of Lazarus (Leon Bailey) was first to the quarter in :26.2 and first to the half in :56.1. Quarrel made her move first-up going around the final turn and led to three quarters in 1:24.1.
Second-place finisher Bell Of Lazarus and Quarrel battled all the way down the stretch. Quarrel surged late to win in 1:53. The Hunt Is On (Frank Affrunti) finished third.
Quarrel is a 6-year-old mare by Always B Miki. She is owned by Karma Racing and trained by Rob Harmon. It was her fifth win this season. She now has 21 career victories.
Harmon got his 4,000th career victory earlier in the card with Navagio N and driver Chris Long.
Long drove four winners on the card. He got his other wins with Country Dancing and Dragana.
Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Saturday (Oct. 4), featuring the Big Apple Finals, with a post time of 5:05 p.m.
