Plainville, MA — Friday (Nov. 28) afternoon was the closing day of live harness racing at Plainridge Park and in the day’s top event, Meadowlands invader Ladysassin took the final feature with an easy win in the $15,000 juvenile conditioned event in the day’s first race.
Brett Beckwith got away third early with Ladysassin but was out and rolling past the eighth pole and crossed over to the lead in front of the stands. Ladysassin then got to the half in :56.4 and three-quarters in 1:25.4 before taking her two-length lead into the final turn. Ladysassin maintained her gapped advantage to the top of the lane and then cruised home under Beckwith wraps to win in 1:56.
Ladysassin ($2.40) is owned by Michael Eaton Jr. and Robert Griffin and trained by Mike Eaton.
Nick Graffam had a driving double during the afternoon while nine different trainers each won one race.
Plainridge Park held a trackside presentation for the leading horse people of the 2025 meet.
Gretchen Athearn was the leading trainer with 52 wins and $796,344 in earnings and the leading driver was Bruce Ranger, who had 147 wins, with purses totaling $1.91 million.
