Washington, PA – Here is this week’s Meadows Monday Memo.
QUALIFIERS MOVED TO WEDNESDAY
Due to the winter storm over this past weekend, The Meadows has moved this week’s qualifying races from Tuesday (Jan. 27) to Wednesday (Jan. 28) at 11:30 a.m., prior to the pari-mutuel card, which begins at 12:45 p.m. As always, the qualifying races will be shown live on the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association’s Facebook page. Also note that after a two-day closure due to weather conditions, The Meadows’ Racebook will resume regular hours on Tuesday.
WIN STREAKS
The start of the new season has seen several horses continue winning streaks that began in late 2025. All The Chips, a claiming pacer, has now won six straight in claiming ranks after a victory on Saturday in 1:54.3. The first five of those wins were for the Dirk Simpson Stable, and after a claim, the sixth victory was for the Jason Brewer barn. Wildcat Lisa, a pacing mare, extended her winning streak to five races for the Brandon Presto Stable with a win last Thursday. And on Friday, trotter Farah Trio IT won for the fifth consecutive start for trainer Scott Betts, and is undefeated since adding trotting hopples.
POP-UP SERIES FINALS ALL WEEK
The new Pop-Up Series for conditioned claiming trotters and pacers will conclude this week with four $15,000 finals, one each day from Wednesday through Saturday. Horses have earned points in three preliminary legs, setting the fields for this week’s finals. Legacy’s Casanova, trained by Dana Kahrig, has been installed as the morning-line favorite for Wednesday’s final, which features colt and gelding trotters. The race is carded as No. 7 on the 13-race card.
SPRING SERIES COMING UP SOON
