Dover, DE — Benjamin Hanover made amends after making a break in his previous start with a dominant victory in the $25,000 Open Handicap Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night (Feb. 10).
Four horses battled for early position trotting into the first turn. Every Day Dan protected pylon position by parking out Speed Away, Benjamin Hanover and A Blue Million. Speed Away eventually retreated to the pylons in fourth as 1-5 favorite Benjamin Hanover showed little respect towards A Blue Million, who won four consecutive races. Both trotters were parked wide through the :27.2 opening quarter. Benjamin Hanover remained the aggressor after finally allowing a relentless A Blue Million to clear the lead and reach the half in :57.
Midway up the backstretch, Benjamin Hanover and driver Tim Tetrick continued to intimidate A Blue Million. They pulled the pocket and accelerated into the lead at three-quarters in 1:26.1.
Speed Away braved a coverless first-over bid and Last Glow followed second-over on the rim. Every Day Dan remained in the pocket. Benjamin Hanover drew off in the lane and won by three lengths under wraps, trotting the mile in 1:54.2.

Speed Away finished second and Last Glow was third.
Benjamin Hanover, a son of Sebastian K S bred by Hanover Shoe Farms, is owned by Angela Cornell, trained by Scott DiDomenico, and was driven by Tim Tetrick.
The featured race on Wednesday’s (Feb. 11) 14-race card is the $25,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace. Racin Hungry seeks her second consecutive victory and takes on Jett Propelled and Ballast.
Bally’s Dover races Monday through Thursday. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
