Washington, PA – Following is The Meadows Monday Memo for Aug. 24, 2026.
QUALIFIERS MOVED TO WEDNESDAY THIS WEEK
Due to the replacement of a transformer on The Meadows’ backstretch, qualifying races have been moved from Tuesday (Aug. 25) to Wednesday (Aug. 26) this week. Post time for the qualifiers will be 11 a.m. The entry box will close Tuesday morning.
STAKE RACES SET FOR THURSDAY
Thursday’s (Aug. 27) card at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will feature 14 races, including four stakes. Two $54,945 splits of the Pennsylvania Sire Stake for 2-year-old filly trotters will start the day, followed by two freshmen PA Stallion Series stakes. The top level events will feature a pair of three-time winners so far this summer. In race 1, trainer Nicklas Andersen will send Ops Mearas S up in class this week after back-to-back wins in the Stallion Series. The daughter of International Moni has a mark of 1:55. In the second race, local filly Miss Eliza, trained by Norm Parker, will leave from post one in search of her fourth win of the summer. She has a mark of 1:54.3.
NO LIVE RACING SATURDAY
The Meadows will race at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday this week, along with 5:10 p.m. Friday. There will be no live racing on Saturday Aug. 29), due to the annual Corks & Kegs Festival on Aug. 29 and 30.
“DOLLAR DOG” NIGHT COMING
Friday night, Sept. 4 will be the final Friday evening card at The Meadows for the summer, and will be deemed a Fan Appreciation Night. Additional details will follow next week, but plans are in place for $1 hot dogs and $2 beer to thank our customers for their support throughout the Championship Meet this summer. Post time will be 5:10 p.m.
