Northfield, OH – Veteran harness driver Kurt Sugg reached a milestone Sunday night (March 15) at MGM Northfield Park when he picked up the 6,000th win of his career behind Get In And Go, a horse he also trains, in race four. The pair delivered the victory with a three-wide sweeping move around the far turn, grinding their way to the front late and edging past favorite Mohatu AS.
For nearly two decades, Sugg has been one of the most reliable winners in harness racing. He has topped the 200-win mark in 17 of the last 18 seasons, and the only year he fell short he still finished with a solid 190 victories.

The wins have translated into steady financial success as well, with Sugg posting more than $2 million in purse earnings in 11 consecutive seasons. His best two seasons were in 2020 and 2021, which were almost identical on paper, with 384 and 370 wins, respectively, and over $2.9 million in earnings.
Kurt has also picked up 1,072 training victories and over $7.2 million in purses on the conditioning side.
The 2026 driving season appears to be headed in the same direction. Through 378 starts, Sugg has 53 wins and $440,432 in purse earnings. If the numbers continue at their current pace, another 200-plus win season and another year north of $2 million in purses looks well within reach.
And if Sunday night proved anything, it’s that even after 6,000 wins, Kurt Sugg is still doing what he’s done for years – showing up, putting horses in position to win, and letting the results speak for themselves.
