UPCOMING SCHEDULE CHANGES
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows announces several upcoming schedule changes. We previously announced a post time change for Wednesday, April 28 to 5:10 p.m. and a Derby Day post time of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 6 has now been added to the schedule with a 12:45 p,m post, and will replace a planned card on Saturday, May 9. Also please note changes on Preakness and Belmont days (May 16 and June 6) as we will go with our standard 12:45 p.m., start time, rather than earlier posts.
EIGHT PREP RACES SET FOR TUESDAY
A total of eight qualifying races will be held Tuesday morning (April 21) at The Meadows. The action will be shown live at 11 a.m., on the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association’s Facebook page. A pair of local colt trotters will be qualifying, getting ready for next month’s Sire Stake action. R Tommy Collins, out of the Tom Svrcek Stable, will compete in race #1, while Mr Big Spender, trained by Norm Parker, will race in the third qualifier. Top Open pacer Birthday, trained by Ron Burke, will make his return to action in the 8th qualifier.
TOP TROTTERS FEATURED ON WEDNESDAY
Wednesday (April 20) afternoon’s feature race will be the $18,000 Open Handicap Trot, carded at Race #8 out of 13 on the day. Good Feel’n To Know trained by Rick Hercules and driven by Dave Palone, has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite, and will leave from post 1. The race also features newcomer LT Loverboy, trained by Daren Harvey. The now 4-year-old gelding by Long Tom, has banked over $619,000 in just 21 lifetime starts. Chris Lems will drive on Wednesday.
