Monticello, NY – Monticello Raceway is proud to announce the addition of Brian McEvoy as its new track handicapper. He replaces Catskill Steve, who was a mainstay for many years as the track handicapper at the Mighty M.
McEvoy is the current track handicapper for Pocono Downs, a position he has held for the last seven years. McEvoy got the harness racing bug at the tender early age of 12 years old and his love of harness racing has followed him his entire life. He spends countless hours watching replays of races before making my picks daily. He is an avid follower of harness racing and looks at every harness program every day at every track in North America.
Prior to his handicapping days, McEvoy enjoyed a career in the music business, where he was the Director of Rock Music for Mercury, Island, Def Jam records. He worked with artists as Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Kiss, Susan Tedeschi and many more.
“I appreciate this opportunity to be making my picks daily for the king of daytime racing for many, many years, Monticello Raceway,” said McEvoy. Monticello Raceway Race Secretary, Eric Warner commented, “Brian will be a welcome addition, he fills a large void left by Catskill Steve, who had many faithful during his long tenure.”
