Hamburg, NY — Kilowatt Kid N ($20.76) was ‘electric’ in Buffalo Raceway’s $10,900 featured pace on Friday afternoon (June 12) as he showed plenty of energy in the second half mile to shock the field with a three-quarter-length score over Tactical Seelster in 1:56.4.
One Corona To Go (Ray Fisher Jr.) tried to bottom out the field as he set snappy fractions of :27,4 :56.1 and 1:26.1. Enjoying 3-3/4-length advantages at the half and three-quarter poles, things were about to crash in on One Corona To Go during the last panel.
Kilowatt Kid N (Drew Monti) was three-wide approaching the top of the stretch and had little problem getting past the tired One Corona To Go, who eventually finished third. Tactical Seelster (Brett MacDonald) hung tough down the lane but didn’t have enough to catch the charging Kilowatt Kid N.
It was the fourth win in 22 starts for the 12-year-old Kilowatt Kid N (American Ideal-Wave Runner), whom Samuel Smith conditions for owner Mike Torcello. The win increased his seasonal earnings to $29,434 and career bankroll to $347,998.
Driver Kevin Cummings, who had four victories on the day, posted two of them in wire-to-wire fashion in the $10,900 trotting events.
Infinity Stone ($4.70) was the most impressive as he romped to an easy 8-1/4-length decision over Dougadougadew. Infinity Stone posted splits of :28.4, :57 and 1:26.2 en route to the 1:56.4 nod.
In the other bracket, Security Code S ($3.80) showed the way the entire mile in turning back Whats The Point by three-quarters of a length in 2:00.
Kyle Cummings and Monti snagged two wins each on the card while trainer Smith had three victories and Tammy Cummings two.
