Nichols, NY — Enola (Mike Merton) won the $14,500 featured Open Trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday (June 13).
Merton sent Enola ($6.64) straight to the front and led to the quarter in :27.4. She continued to dictate the tempo, clocking a :57 opening half (:29.1 second panel) before reaching three quarters in 1:25.1.
As they reached the stretch, second-place finisher Dewey Arnold (Ridge Warren) went all out after the lead, but Enola dug in and won in 1:54.1. Sir Maverick (Joe Chindano Jr.) was third.

Enola is a 6-year-old mare by Resolve, owned by Go For Glory Stable and trained by Rob Harmon. The victory was her fourth of the season, and the 20th of her career.
Braxten Boyd drove five winners on the card. The “Michigan Missile” won the first race and the last four. He was first with Mob Rat, What A Buckeye, April Ava, Worth A Whisper, and Rocket Man Hill. Colin Kelly turned in a driving hat trick.
