East Rutherford, NJ – The September $1,000 handicapping contest takes place on Saturday (Sept. 5). Once again, there is no entry fee (a $100 live money bankroll is required), and the prize pool, guaranteed at $1,000, will be paid out to the top four finishers. Full details are available here.
Closing out the summer harness meet on Saturday, Sept. 12, is the track’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. The Café will have $1 hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn, and soda, and $2 draft beer from 6-11 p.m. (EDT), and the Lounge will feature the beer special for those 21+.
Fans have a chance to win up to $50 in betting vouchers for just using their Players Club card at any self-service terminal. The night’s TV broadcast will also feature racing highlights from the last 50 years along with special guests. In addition, the first 1,000 guests will receive a 50th anniversary beverage flask (giveaway begins at 6 p.m.).

Turf racing under the lights returns Friday, Sept. 18, and runs through Friday, Oct. 16. The Monmouth at Meadowlands meet has a 7 p.m. post time.
Saturday, Sept. 19, is the return of the popular N.J. band The PastMasters on the rooftop Terrace. Enjoy classic rock hits from 6-11 p.m.
Rounding out the month is a visit from the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales. Fans can meet and greet the gentle giants from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on the track apron near the winner’s circle. The hitch team will also parade down the track at 8 p.m. following the third race.
