Columbus, MN – PD The Big Easy delivered as the heavy favorite in the featured event on Tuesday night (Sept. 15) at Running Aces to record his 35th career win.
Trainer/driver Brady Jenson sent the classy 8-year-old son of Sweet Lou right to the front from post six in the $17,000 top condition pace and they were never in doubt through fractions of :27.3, :56.3 and 1:23.4 while Gandalf (Nick Roland) tracked in the pocket and Handsome Sir (Brian Detgen) tried a long term first-over bid.
In the homestretch, it was clear that the race was for place as PD The Big Easy kept to his task to post a three-quarters of a length tally in 1:52 while King Putt (Rick Magee) shook free from a ground-saving trip for a late rally to grab second money over Gandalf.
PD The Big Easy, who paid $3, now shows career earnings of $326,998. He is also owned by Jenson, in partnership with Ken Stauffer.
Driver Rick Magee and trainer Rick Bertrand each scored doubles on the program.
Live racing returns to Running Aces on Friday night (Sept. 18) to kick off the track’s ‘Champions Weekend’ that will close out the 2026 season at the Minnesota oval.
Post time is 6 p.m. (CDT) for both Friday and Saturday. Friday features five Minnesota-sired Consolation events as well as two $30,000 Open events as part of a nine-race offering while Saturday is the ‘Minnesota Night of Champions’ card with 12 championship races going for $65,000 each.
