from the USHWA Canadian Chapter
The United States Harness Writers Association Canadian chapter invites students from university and college journalism, broadcast journalism, sports media, and related programs to apply for one of two available seats in our student journalism workshop.
Inspired by the Clyde Hirt Media Workshop, which USHWA conducts annually on a larger scale at The Meadowlands, the Canadian workshop was introduced in 2016.
The 2017 edition will run Atlantic Breeders Crown weekend (Oct. 7-8) at Red Shores Charlottetown, P.E.I., with opportunities for participating students to learn about harness racing and its sport-specific media work.
Students must provide their own transportation and accommodations (information can be provided if required). Deadline for applications is Oct. 1.
To apply, please contact Melissa Keith, Canadian chapter president, at mkeith71@gmail.com or DM @USHWACanada on Twitter.
