‘Catskill’ Steve Terjanian offers his picks for the $25,000 Pick-4 at Yonkers Raceway on August 28, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.
Yonkers Raceway Pick-4, Races 7-10, Tuesday, August 28, 2012
Going into tonight I have hit on four of the 13 Pick-4s assigned to me and show a profit of $263. Tonight’s Pick-4, unfortunately, could well be a chalk player’s delight.
$1 play: 12/36/23/25 = $16
Analysis:
Race 7: In the opener (1) All Stienam and (2) Arts Ideal Hanover have both chased stakes company most of their sophomore year. The former has paced sub-1:50 miles at the Meadowlands in two of his last three while the latter recorded a 1:52.3 win at Yonkers two back.
Race 8: (3) Island Redemption drops to winning level and should be tough at short price. (6) Make It Brief had steady rally from tough spot. Will likely leave for trip behind top one and looks to have best shot at upset.
Race 9: (2) Mystic Desire has missed two months but qualified back sharp for barn that returns them ready and holds a huge class edge on these. (3) Mcdana N had tough spot in local return. Was competitive against tougher here in last visit and will likely be sharper from better post tonight.
Race 10: (5) American Gi made two moves past a 1:23.2 three-quarters at Saratoga against Sire Stakes competition before tiring last time. Colt paced some fast miles here in May before taking on bearcats through the summer months. Gets class relief and should be geared up for high percentage barn. (2) Mcboogie is just 1 for 11 on the year over Pennsylvania’s big ovals but has shown speed in a number of starts and may be able to carry that speed farther around four turns.
Good luck.
