Yonkers Raceway Pick-4, Races 7-10, Monday, August 27, 2012
$1 play: 347/234/56/1 = $18
Analysis:
Race 7: (3) Howards Noble Lady has raced well on the Plainridge circuit against weaker. Ships to Yonkers and gets Brennan for owner/driver and can go well from this spot. (4) Swash Hanover made up good ground from eight hole last time after a game wire-to-wire score against weaker. (7) Live Wire is another who made up a ton of ground from difficult spot last time following a pocket sitting score at Tioga two back in lifetime best mile. Filly has shown some ability in just a dozen starts for strong barn and may be ready to conquer the half-miler despite tough draw.
Race 8: (2) Momma Rock looks like a wise $16,000 purchase at the Tattersalls Sale on August 6 by Banca, debuting with a strong 1:53.4 (lifetime best) win, fighting off backside pressure to hold sway easily. (3) Persuasive Hanover applied pressure to top one last time and did well to hold place. Filly has been worse than second only once in six-race career and can continue to move forward. (4) Air Guitar Hanover has been chasing stakes company most of the year. Should appreciate class relief and only question remaining is how she can handle four turns.
Race 9: (5) Fox Valley Tyrese qualified back well after quitting badly in last start. Veteran is just 1 for 18 on the year after banking nine wins and $151,000 a year ago but will likely be ready for underrated barn and note the reduced level and the fact he is not in for a tag this week. (6) Busta Move has had seven hole in last two, finishing in :28.1 last time and pacing a bold :55.4 middle half making three wide move and finishing evenly two back; both efforts against tougher. Drops and could be live at a price for “Double Digit” Dube.
Race 10: (1) Roadway has won two of his last three in identical 1:51.4 miles. Steps up but figures hard to catch from the pole with anything close to those last two scores.
Good luck!
