Analysis:
Race 7: Opening leg of a difficult Pick-4 and I’ll take (3) Domitian Hanover who was ultra-game wiring a good field at Monticello last time, leaving in :28, fighting off all challengers and finishing with a sharp :28.2 kicker to wrap up a 1:55.2 mile. Was competitive against slightly better than these in last Empire City visit and seems capable of going down the road. (5) Print It takes a key drop and has finished with sub-:29 quarters in five of his last six over half-milers. Could be live at a price.
Race 8: (6) Make It Brief appears the sharpest of these right now, has the most early speed and may shake loose. If he doesn’t it’s wide open. (7) Moneybackguarantee has been a major disappointment in 2012, going 0 for 19 after winning five times a year ago and banking more than $80,000. Drops into a $15,000 claimer and adds “The White Knight” who may get aggressive from seven hole. Upset possibility on best.
Race 9: Two fillies going up against older gals, (4) Child’s Play is entering the race in career best form. Sophomore has taken three of her last four at Yonkers, the lone loss by a neck, and her latest a solid score leaving for the pocket from the six hole, chasing a slow opening half, then turning it up when asked, pacing a sparkling :55.4 final half to earn well measured win. Has had only 12 career starts but seems to be getting better for barn that has excelled with young stock over the years. (5) Pacin Yankee had nightmare trip when bumped up to this class after two solid placings against lesser with Sears who is back aboard tonight. Well bred filly should be following live cover from this spot and has a shot.
Race 10: (7) Or broke early last time and never got involved after a strong uncovered try against much tougher two back. Drops, gets Bartlett and may be a handful on or from off the pace. (5) Wayward Son drops after chasing some torrid miles (including final halves) in recent and seems well placed to set up his stretch kick. (6) Western Cole ships east after showing some ability in the Midwest, a circuit I like to follow, gets Brennan and I’ll include him although he may be a step behind his older foes in here.
Good luck.
