Columbus, OH — The deadline is fast approaching for the Matching Funds Grant Program; proposals must be postmarked on or before May 15, 2012. Applications postmarked after the due date will not be considered.

The Matching Funds Grant Program was started in 2006 and is administered by the USTA. The Program awards up to $20,000 per year, maximum $2,500 per applicant, to individual county fairs, horsemen’s associations and colt circuits to support a marketing program to promote harness racing on the county fair level.

Examples of eligible expenses for the Program include advertising, grandstand giveaways, promotional events leading up to the fair (i.e. farm open house), trainer/driver promotions, mascot/children’s activities and much more.
