Going into the stretch Falcao de Laurma (sired by Uniclove) seemingly looked like an easy winner, but suddenly Frisbee d’Am (a 165-1 shot) came from nowhere, but Falcao de Laurma just managed to get first past the post in the 1-11/16 mile event. The time for the winner was 1:57.4 (mile rate).
Falcao de Laurma, who is trained by Thierry Duvaldestin, earned $100,000 for the win.
The top elder trotters met in the Prix Kerjaques, also raced over 1-11/16 miles, and the race was won by the 7-year-old gelding Cleangame, with trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire. The time for the winner was 1:56.4 (mile rate). Cleangame, who earned $50,000 for the win, has now raced 36 times and has 24 wins.
As a gelding, he is excluded to race in the classic and big international races in France like the Prix d’Amerique, Prix de France, Criterium de Vitesse etc., but he still has managed to earn $925,000.
