Anderson, IN – Aces And Cinches driven by Kyle Wilfong for trainer Ron Burke led the field from the jump to take down the fourth leg of the $94,000 Indiana Sire Stakes 3-Year-Old Colts and Geldings Pace at Hoosier Park on Friday (July 3) in a career best 1:48.1.
Starting from the outside post six, Aces And Cinches went straight to business winning the four-way cavalry charge to the first turn to cross over to the cones before the quarter in a wicked :25.4. Dancingdreamer (Marcus Miller) got away second, followed by Door Dash (Kevin Lambright) in third.
The post-time favorite Swiss Lights (Trace Tetrick) took this opportunity toward the turn to swing to the outside climbing up the field from fourth just after the field reached the half in a blistering :53.3 Aces And Cinches held onto his lead to the three-quarters in 1:21.4 followed by Dancingdreamer with Swiss Lights to his outside. Down the homestretch, Aces And Cinches found the open freeway keeping his foot on the pedal pacing through the wire in 1:48.1. Swiss Light got up for second as Dancingdreamer held on to third, each 4-1/2 lengths back of the winner.
Aces And Cinches is owned by Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, Frank Baldachino and Michael Rosenthal. The 3-year-old Odds On Equuleus colt was bred by Alpine Stables. Aces And Cinches doubled his lifetime earnings to $93,400 for his second win of the season. Aces And Cinches paid $11 to win. The 1:48.1 clocking matched the fastest mile of the season thus far at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, posted initially by Rip Wheeler on May 29.
Using his vast experience, the 10-year-old double-millionaire Little Rocket Man driven by Kyle Wilfong for trainer Ken Rucker steamrolled the $22,000 Open Pace at Hoosier Park earlier on the Friday card.
Getting off to a fast start in post five, Little Rocket Man was cleared for liftoff out of the gate beating the seven-horse field to the rail through the first turn in :26.1. Pacing single file, Little Rocket Man remained the leader at the halfway point in :55 tightly followed by Combustion (Marcus Miller), Crooked Smile (Jordan Ross) and M-M-s Bud, the post time favorite. M-M-s Bud took on the challenge by going first over as Little Rocket Man led the pacers to the third-quarter turn in 1:22.4 with M-M-s Bud on his heels. Powering down the stretch, Little Rocket Man fended off the M-M-s Bud challenge getting home to the wire in 1:49.3. Leave It To Leo (Atlee Bender) rallied for second, while M-M-s Bud ended up in third.
The Rockin Image gelding Little Rocket Man is owned by Russell Beeman and Jack Freeman. Little Rocket Man scored his seventh win of the season increasing his lifetime earnings to $2,054,744. Little Rocket Man paid $5.40 to win.
