AHDC in action at Freehold Raceway

Freehold, NJ — With any good TV show, there is always a rerun and J S Peyton decided to turn Freehold Raceway into Peyton Place by dominating the AHDC Trot for the second consecutive week for pilot Jacob Stillwell.

J S Peyton scored the victory during AHDC action on Saturday at Freehold. World Wide Racing Photos.

When the gate sprung Call Me Thefireman (Anthony Verruso) sprinted to the early lead. J S Peyton, also vying for the lead, saw the quick early pace and took a tuck third. First Gunner continued his charge to the lead for Bob Hechkoff as the field sped past the quarter in :28:3.

That duo immediate slammed on the brakes and went a pedestrian :32:2 second quarter. With the excessive slowing of the pace, All Rise with Tony Beltrami tried to rush past the leader but got caught first over. The two horses battled up the backside and J S Peyton followed that first over bid and waited for the top of the stretch to swing wide and blow by the tiring leaders. First Gunner held for second with All Rise copping the show dough.

J S Peyton, an 8-year-old Swan For All gelding, is owned by Mo Coo Inc. and trained by Candace Brandstatter. The gelding was sent off as the betting favorite returning $4.60 on the win end.
