Harrington, DE — Bryan Truitt’s Almost Persuaded ($12.80, Russell Foster) was a 1:53.4 winner in the $22,500 Mares Open Pace on Tuesday (April 28) at Harrington Raceway.
The 4-year-old Captaintreacherous mare rode a pocket trip to her fourth win of the season by a narrow margin over Jett Propelled and Square Deal. Trained by her owner, Almost Persuaded scored the 10th win of her career and her first ever at the Open level.

In the ninth race, David Rearic’s Spooky Season ($7, Rearic) broke a 51-race winless skid with a 1:59.2 wire-to-wire triumph for her owner/trainer/driver.
Also on the undercard, JMF Racing’s Lil Miss Wonderphyl ($12.80, Brandon Givens) was a 1:55.2 winner in the $18,000 Mares Open II for trainer Vince Bradley.
Driver Mike Cole had four wins, including a trio for trainer Joe Columbo and owners George and Tina Dennis.
Defending meet leading driver Montrell Teague had three wins.
