Annette Brown, 86, dies

Columbus, OH — Annette Brown, 86, of Harpster, Ohio, died Dec. 15, 2023, at her home in rural Harpster.

She was born Nov. 26, 1937, in Marysville, Ohio, to John F. and Selma E. (Laird) Crider, both of whom are deceased. She married Robert H. “Bob” Brown on April 7, 1956, and he died Dec. 23, 2001.

She is survived by her children, Peggy Sexton, Patrick, Brian (Jennifer), and John; grandchildren, Tim (Jessica) Wilkins, Jason (Regina), Kristen (Jordan Rouch), Jessica (Cam) McCown, and Beau (Teesha); 15 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Jeanette Heideman (her twin sister) and Betty DeGood. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, JoAnn and Irene Haycocks; and a daughter-in-law, Teresa.

Mrs. Brown was a homemaker, and worked alongside her husband for 35 years training horses. She also had worked as a courier for 1st Citizens National Bank, and also in the deli at A&A Grocery in Upper Sandusky.

She was a member of the USTA and the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association.

For hobbies she enjoyed doing puzzles, crocheting, going to watch her family at various horse races, and spending time and following her grandchildren in their various activities.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 20) at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitations will be held on Tuesday (Dec. 19) from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home.
