Antonacci family purchases Kentucky farm

Lexington, KY — The Antonacci family of Lindy Farms is pleased to announce the purchase of a new Standardbred and Thoroughbred farm on Bryan Station Road in Lexington, Ky.

The property is part of the historic Bryan Station Farm, and dates back to the very founding of Lexington, serving as the backdrop for the Siege of Bryan Station during the American Revolution. In a nod to that tradition and legacy that Lindy Farms is proud to carry on, the new farm will be named Lindy Farms at Bryan Station.

The Antonacci family first came to Lexington in 1969 to race their 3-year-old colt champion, Lindy’s Pride, in the Kentucky Futurity. In 2000, in partnership with Brittany Farms and Winbak Farm, the Antonaccis purchased the Red Mile to preserve and promote the racing legacy of Lexington. Since that time, the Red Mile, in joint venture with Keeneland, has brought considerable value to the racing and breeding of both breeds. Kentucky, and specifically Lexington, is securely positioned to remain as the preeminent horse country in the world.

“The purchase of this property is the next step in our family’s involvement and commitment to the Bluegrass and Lexington communities,” the family said in a statement released Saturday (Sept. 30). “Lindy Farms at Bryan Station will be a world-class dual-breed facility combining the rich equine history of Lexington with the esteemed racing and breeding legacy of Lindy Farms. We will be mindful stewards of the land and look forward to deepening our commitment to this wonderful community and making the City of Lexington, Fayette County, and Commonwealth of Kentucky proud.

“We would like to thank Bill Justice of Justice Real Estate for facilitating the transaction.”
