Ohio Sires Stakes Opens Saturday At Miami Valley Gaming
Two Ohio freshman divisional winners will start the defense of their titles in the opening leg of the Ohio Sires Stakes, on Saturday (May 4) at Miami Valley Gaming. Seaside Diva the 2-Year-Old Filly Pacer of the Year has won her first two starts of the year while Clever Cody, the 2-Year-Old Colt Pacer of the Year will make his first start of the year.
Dewey Arnold takes feature at Vernon Downs
Dewey Arnold (Ron Harp) breezed to easy win in the $7,500 featured trot on Friday (May 3) at Vernon Downs.
Chake upsets Benjamin Hanover in Philly feature trot
The Donato Hanover mare Chake posted a major upset in the $13,000 featured fast-class trot on Friday (May 3) afternoon at Harrah’s Philadelphia, upending heavy favorite Benjamin Hanover in 1:52.4.
I Got The Looks is a handsome winner at Buffalo
I Got The Looks ($5.20) was a handsome winner in the $9,000 trot, one of three co-featured events at Buffalo Raceway on Friday afternoon (May 3), as he scorched the field in seasonal best 1:57.4 over the fast track. He defeated Magic MVP by a comfortable three lengths.
Two divisions still open for the Next Generation at Scioto
With the first of three deadlines having passed for nominations, both the 2-year-old colt pace and 2-year-old filly trot Next Generation events have filled, with the colt pace being oversubscribed. A lottery drawing will be held during Eldorado Scioto Downs’ opening week, on Saturday (May 11) to see who will secure each of the nine available spots for the colt pace.
