With the temperature just below 50 degrees, the MADC series featured three races on the Friday (Nov. 3) night card. As always, the races featured a lot of action from the start and some prices on the short side for these fields, except for the last race.

Tactical Approach lands Stallion Home at Diamond Creek
Tactical Approach, trained by Nancy Takter, is from the first crop of the red hot sire, Tactical Landing and out of the Donato Hanover mare, Sarcy, making him a half-brother to Double Deceiver (1:50.2, $822,579). He raced lightly at two, making five starts with two wins in the Kentucky Sire Stakes Commonwealth Series. He came back very strong at three this season, increasing his bankroll to over $1.35 million, taking a mark of 1:50.1. Providing memorable wins in the Hambletonian, Kentucky Futurity and Breeders Crown, all from undesirable post positions.

Well-known local horseman Perry E. Buddy Simpson, 93, of Fairfield, passed away on Monday (Oct. 30), at the VA Medical Center in Marion, IL.

Enhance Yourcalm N splashes his way to Plainridge victory
It was a dark and stormy Monday afternoon (Oct. 30) at Plainridge Park and the weather left the track with off-going. But despite the less than favorable conditions, Enhance Yourcalm N maintained his composure to win the $25,000 Open Handicap trotting feature.
Petes For Real Finishes 3-for-3 In Virginia Breeders Championship Series at Shenandoah Downs; Scores In $85,250 Final on Sunday
Pam Wagner’s Petes For Real completed a sweep of his Virginia Breeder’s divisional championship series with a big win in Sunday’s (Oct. 29) $85,025 2-Year-Old Colt & Gelding Pace, one of eight title races for freshman and sophomore pacers and trotters of both sexes that were on the card. Those eight carried total purse money of $702,000 and combined with a four pack of $20,000 Aged Breeder’s races and a pair of $10,000 Opens, a total of $802,200 was distributed Sunday making it the richest card in Virginia harness racing history.
