Seven off-track Standardbreds featured at Equine Affaire
The U.S. Trotting Association proudly featured seven off-track Standardbreds and their riders/drivers at the 2025 Equine Affaire in Springfield, MA, which took place from Thursday (Nov. 6) through Sunday (Nov. 9).

HISA/HIWU follow the lead of the Harness Racing Medication Collaborative and USTA on Metformin threshold
On Monday (Nov. 17), the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority’s Anti-Doping and Medication Control (ADMC) Committee announced a proposed new minimum level for the banned substance Metformin more than a year after the U.S. Trotting Association’s Harness Racing Medication Collaborative’s (HRMC) recommendation of a “no effect threshold of five (5) nanograms per milliliter, (5ng/mL) in plasma was incorporated into USTA rules.
District 2 members, directors meet at Hoosier Park
Members and directors from USTA District 3 met on Friday afternoon (Nov. 14) in the Top of the Park Room at Hoosier Park to discuss industry matters and to debate nine USTA rule change/by law change proposals. District chairperson Marilyn Breuer-Bertera was joined at the venue by fellow district directors Sam Hedington, Joe Morris, and Cathy Webb, with director Steve Oldford participating via Zoom. The meeting featured several speakers and more than 20 guests.
