As the Pine Tree State’s horse people prepare for the start of the Maine Sire Stakes in a few weeks, a pair of the lucrative program’s graduates added to their respective bankrolls on Saturday (May 10) at Cumberland Raceway.

Racing started off hot Saturday night at Eldorado Scioto Downs when the first race went in 1:49.1. Bythemissal did not disappoint seven races later winning the $26,000 Open pace in dominating fashion, under wraps, in 1:48.3.

Heading into the Saturday night feature at The Meadowlands, the headlines were all about Antognoni S, the standout from the Ron Burke barn who was seeking a seventh straight score to get ready for next week’s $175,000 (est.) Arthur J. Cutler Memorial.
