‘The Money Man’ cashes five times at the Big M
It wasn’t the North America Cup, Hambletonian or Kentucky Futurity, but Scott Zeron proved Friday night (Nov. 17) at the Meadowlands that it doesn’t necessarily take a major stakes event to find him in the winner’s circle, as the 34-year-old, known as “The Money Man,” guided five winners on the card.
French Wine, Coach Stefanos dominate in Star Destroyer
Grand Circuit action returned to Harrah’s Hoosier Park with five divisions of The Star Destroyer for 3-year-olds highlighting the 14-race card on Friday (Nov. 17). Entering as the headliners on the card, French Wine and Coach Stefanos did not disappoint, delivering dominant victories in their respective divisions.
The Moma Dance wins Vernon feature
The Moma Dance and driver Chris Long captured the featured $7,500 fillies and mares’ pace at Vernon Downs on Friday (Nov. 17).
Siegelman wins three at Freehold
On Friday (Nov. 17), Austin Siegelman won three out of the 10 races conducted at Freehold Raceway.
Beat Cop completes sweep, wins second DSBF title
Following open-length wins in both of his preliminary divisions, P T Stable’s Beat Cop ($2.20) delivered an encore performance in the $110,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund (DSBF) series final for 2-year-old male pacers on Thursday (Nov. 16) at Bally’s Dover, defeating stablemate Lovenbury by 6-1/4 lengths in a lifetime best 1:53.4.
Carbine prevails at Dayton; Ants Marching shatters track record
Carbine ($2.60) prevailed as the heavy favorite in Thursday’s (Nov. 16) $20,000 conditioned pacing feature at Dayton Raceway, giving driver Dan Noble one of four wins on the card.
Odds-on favorites prevail in Progress elims
Stockade Seelster ($3.80) and Cannibal ($3.20) both won — albeit narrowly — as the odds-on favorites in their respective $35,000 eliminations of the Progress Pace, for 3-year-old colts and geldings, on Thursday (Nov. 16) at Bally’s Dover.
Hats off to Cushings and Sywyk at Plainridge
It was a big day for driver Ron Cushing, trainer Heidi Cushing and owner Kevin Sywyk on Thursday (Nov. 16) at Plainridge Park, who combined for three winners — two in career best miles and including both top condition races — on the card.
Black Hope shocks in Dover trot
Black Hope and 21-year-old driver Cole Olsen posted a 21-1 upset in the $25,000 Open Handicap Trot on Tuesday (Nov. 14) at Bally’s Dover.
