Kodack Black, who won the $110,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund (DSBF) summer series final for 3-year-old male trotters in July at Harrington Raceway, is poised for a second seasonal title in the First State after coasting to an open-length score in his $20,000 second-round DSBF series division on Tuesday (Dec. 5) at Bally’s Dover.

I Did It Myway ($2.10) was a wire-to-wire winner in Thursday’s (Nov. 30) $27,500 Blue Hen/Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover.

Driver Brett Beckwith was the star of Thursday’s (Nov. 30) meet-concluding card at Plainridge Park by winning the feature race and reaching milestones for both himself and one of his mounts.

Gaitway Guy ($2.10) maintained the top spot among Delaware-sired 3-year-old male pacers with a 1:55 win in his $20,000 first-round division of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund (DSBF) series on Thursday (Nov. 30) at Bally’s Dover. Marshal Dillon ($11.00) captured the other split in 1:56.

Fifty Ways took advantage of a cover trip and scored a 26-1 upset in Tuesday’s (Nov. 28) $25,000 Open Handicap Trot at Bally’s Dover.

It took a camera to separate the top three finishers in the $25,000 distaff pacing feature at Plainridge Park on Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 28), but the picture clearly showed that La Bella Vita N got the job done for the second week in a row.

Kodack Black lived up to his prohibitive 1-20 favoritism in the second of two $20,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund (DSBF) first-round preliminary events for 3-year-old male trotters on Tuesday (Nov. 28) at Bally’s Dover by way of a commanding 1:58.3 score while Paleface rode the pocket to a 2:01.2 score in the other division.

The Svensk Uppfödningslöpning at Jägersro, the biggest race for 2-year-old trotters in Sweden with a purse for the winner of $155,000, was won easily by L’Amourpourblanca with trainer-driver Rick Ebbinge in 1.56.2f (mile rate), eliminating the old record of 1.56.4f, held by Smokin Joe.

A trio of $20,000 state-bred freshman series finals will be decided Sunday evening (Nov. 26) at Hawthorne Race Course. And in two of the showdowns, it’s anyone’s guess who will be the betting favorites at post time, let alone which horses will come out on top.

Driver Lindsay Moen and trainer Greg Cook captured the Open 1 Pace and the Open 2 Pace Saturday night with Linnycalledfrankie and Catch Me Conrad, respectively, on Saturday (Nov. 25) as Northville Downs ended its 2023 race meet with a large crowd on hand.
